Reaching People Where They Are
Over the past several decades, internet technology has grown and expanded to the point where an almost endless amount of information is available to everyone, all the time. It has allowed us at FBH to make the message of salvation available across the world. However, it also presented the challenge that people still needed to find us, and come to our site. The YouTube ministry was developed to allow us to seek out those who need to hear the gospel, wherever in the world they may be.

Why YouTube?
Founded in 2004 as a video hosting and sharing platform, YouTube has grown exponentially in its reach. By 2024, the platform boasted 2.7 billion active monthly users around the world, making it the second-most visited website on the internet. To keep the service free for all users, YouTube started selling advertising time on their videos. This gave advertisers access to a market that was collectively consuming more than 1-billion hours of video every day. Through the use of creative and compelling video messages, we have found that the YouTube platform allows us to reach more people with the gospel message than we have ever been able to reach through traditional radio.
A Video Campaign: Start to Finish
Whether it is a gospel message, a free Bible offer, or an invitation to an outreach event, we begin by writing the script and producing the video at our studio in St. Catharines, ON. The video is then uploaded to YouTube, and a campaign set up through the ads platform. We can select the area we want the video to be seen, and set the budget which will determine how many people we can reach.
When a person in the target area begins watching videos on YouTube, our messages will be inserted in some of the advertisement slots before and during their chosen video. If the viewer is interested in what they hear, they can click on the ad, or scan a QR code in the video, and they will be taken to our HopeStreamRadio site, where they can read or listen to a full gospel message.
In the case of outreach events, or Bible distribution campaigns, they will be directed to the website of the hosting church, to receive more information on the event, or complete the form to receive their Bible.

Want to Know More?
See below for a list of common questions that people have asked us about the video campaigns. You can click on each question to see the response.
Yes, we are fully compliant with their policies and content guidelines. As long as we do not disparage anyone or their belief system, we are free to share what we believe to be true and tell others about how Jesus died and rose again to offer everyone eternal life by trusting in Him.
No. We can set the campaign budget for whatever is affordable and makes sense for the target area. On average, it costs us about $0.02 for every time a person watches 30 seconds or more of our video ads.
As far as we know, there is no limit to how large and area can be covered. We have run campaigns that targeted all of Canada and the U.S.A. As for smaller areas, we can technically target an area as small as a single street, however, we have noticed that if the target is too small, the system has trouble effectively distributing the video. Our recommendation is that a campaign cover an area of at least a 4 km (2.5 mile) radius around an address point, like a chapel building.
Not directly. Because the YouTube ads review process identifies our videos as “Religious Content”, we are limited by their content guidelines on how we can target the ads. We are restricted to targeting by generic demographics, such as location or language. However, with generic demographic targeting, our ads will still be seen by people of all faiths, ethnicities, political alignment, or other identifiable group. We simply cannot target them specifically. Also, we can target regions and neighbourhoods where we know a large population of a specific people group resides.
As a ministry, we run entirely on a donation basis. Once we have the information for what you need, we will produce the video and start the campaign. If you are able, and feel led, you can donate to the ministry to help cover the campaign costs.
If you cannot give anything, that’s okay. Our mission is to reach people with the gospel and help the local church proclaim Christ to their communities. Please don’t let a lack of funds stop you from calling us, we can still help, and we will trust the Lord to provide the needed resources.
Our recommended donation would be to at least cover the cost of the actual advertisement campaign.
The videos we produce would typically cost $1,500 – $3,000 based on current industry standard rates. While we don’t suggest that as a recommended donation, a gift of $300 – $500 goes a long way to helping us meet our production and overhead costs, as well as allowing us to run regular gospel campaigns, and help local assemblies who would otherwise be unable to afford a campaign in their community.
FBH will take care of the entire project. We write the script, source or create the required video clips, record the voiceover, and set up and manage the distribution campaign. All we need from you are the details of your event, and if you have any photos or video from past events, or of the location they always help. If running a gospel campaign, you can tell us some themes that are pertinent to the region (such as special city-wide festivals) so we can tap into those themes, or you can choose from our ever-growing list of pre-made gospel messages. At the end of the campaign, we will provide you with some final stats on how the video performed.
Our focus is working with the local church in their efforts to reach their neighbours with the gospel, or Bible teaching. This has included outreach dinners and barbecues, youth and DVBS programs, Bible conferences, summer carnivals and more. We also have run campaigns for like-minded ministries, such as Bible camps, and study apps.
Not a problem. If your current website is not up to date, or you don’t have anyone that can monitor it regularly, we are able to design and host a landing page on one of our sites. While we don’t build full sites at FBH, we would be happy to put you into contact with ministries that do perform that work for local churches, and do a great job making good, functional websites.
