Details about who we are, what we do and why we do itTurning to the Bible we read this direct piece of advice, "Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God;' for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone." Have you noticed that people like to take credit for control of their lives when things are going well, yet like to blame God when things fall apart? The picture of an angry God, skulking about setting up moral traps for people so he can punish them when they are caught doesn't square with what we read in the Bible. God isn't interested in evil. He cannot be tempted by evil Himself. He does not use evil to tempt people. In fact, God's great interest is holiness. He is holy - pure, separated from any contamination, and calls his creation to the same standard. It is obvious that a holy God would not resort to initiate evil to fulfill his purposes.     James 1:13
